We are a group travel agency based in Northern Portugal, creating authentic, sustainable and human-centered experiences for travellers who want to feel the real North.
We are three people born in Minho, in Esposende — a small fishing town where the river meets the Atlantic. We grew up between mountains, sea and rural villages of Northern Portugal.
Life abroad in Switzerland, Ireland and the Netherlands showed us something important: Portugal is still deeply unknown, even to those who visit it.
That is why Nortada Travels was born — to reveal the North of Portugal through local eyes, with depth, authenticity and connection.
The “Nortada” is the north wind that comes down our coast on summer afternoons. We grew up with it. It seemed like the right thing to be named after.

Minho — Esposende & Gerês
The Northern Coastal Natural Park stretches along 16 km of coastline. It boasts the longest and best-preserved Atlantic dune system in northern Portugal. The extensive pine forests, agricultural fields, and woodlands contribute to the great floristic and faunistic diversity of this Natural Park. It’s full of unique natural elements that must be protected.
Peneda-Gerês is Portugal's only National Park. It is located in Minho and Trás-os-Montes regions and, together with the Galicia "Baixa Limia-Serra do Xurés" Natural Park, forms the UNESCO biosphere reserve Gerês-Xurés. The National Park comprises 4 mountain ranges, impressive landscapes, and an enormous variety of fauna and flora that needs to be cared for by all of us.
